As such, you should use the following tips to ensure that you avoid getting locked out of your vehicle in the future.

Have a Spare Key Made

You can keep a spare at a family members home, in your own home, or both. A spare key is easy to get acquire and can help alleviate stress when locked out of your vehicle.

Lock Your Car Using the Fob

Nowadays, it's not uncommon for car owners to have fobs that allow them to lock the vehicle from afar.

Making a habit of locking your car using the fob ensures that there is less chance of the keys being left inside the vehicle.

Replace the Fob Batteries

Should the batteries in the fob become non-operational, then it's likely car owners will go back to using their keys in the conventional method. This increases the likelihood of locking the keys inside of the vehicle.

The most common reason for a fob failing to work is because the batteries need replacing. This should be done as soon as possible to decrease the chances of being locked out of your vehicle.

Consider a Bright Keychain

It may sound simple but investing a brightly colored keychain could make all the difference as to whether you remember to pick up your keys before exiting the vehicle.

You can use a lanyard or anything that stands out to ensure that you're not leaving your car keys behind when exiting the vehicle
